Alright guys,
Obviously I’m basically the worst at blogging, but this session was just too cute to keep to myself and their wedding? AH-mazing!
I’ve known Sarah since high school, and I was SO excited when she reached out to me about shooting her engagement and then her wedding! She and Stephen were a match made in heaven, and I honestly believe that. They met at a church activity, but things didn’t kick off quite like you’d think. The first date wasn’t a dream, and Sarah wasn’t sure there would be a second. SURPRISE! There surely was and obvs it went way better than the first.
That second date is really what set things off for these two. They talked on Sarah’s porch for hours in the cold of December and found they had a lot of things in common. They saw more of each other and after seriously talking (and maybe a little pushing), they decided to become an official couple!
This is where I get those butterflies in my stomach and how I know they were meant to be together….Stephen wanted to serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. This meant he would be leaving Sarah (and his family) behind for two years to serve the Lord and help others to know Christ. Sarah told me how excited she was for him, but also that her heart hurt as he would be away for two years with only emails and calls to his family twice a year. So he went, and she waited. She waited because she knew he was not only the man she wanted as her husband, but the man she needed.
When he came home, Stephen knew right there in the airport as they met again after those two years apart that Sarah was going to be his wife. They started making plans soon after, and officially became engaged after Stephen proposed to Sarah with her family around her.
Listen, if this isn’t some kind of fairy tale ending, I don’t know what is. I had the honor of witnessing their sealing for time and all eternity in the Provo City Center temple, and I can honestly testify that I felt our Savior’s presence there with us. I know for a fact that these two were meant to be with one another and that the Lord will bless them for their faithfulness and love.
I’m so grateful for the opportunity I had to be with them at such a special time. It was an amazing experience and I’m grateful to call these two friends. They have blessed me in more ways than they know. It also helps that they’re a ton of fun and taking their pictures felt a lot less like work and a lot more like hanging with friends.
Anyway, until next time, friends! Enjoy!
