In 2024, I decided I was going to take a leap and go on a trip I had been eyeing for a few years. After deliberating, I signed up for the Tyler Rye Iceland Expedition in the fall, which was totally out of my comfort zone, but definitely worth it.

It’s been a long time since I created art to create art and not just to work. I’m grateful I took the time to remember while this is a job, I began because I loved capturing and creating beautiful works for not only others, but myself, too. Tyler did a great job setting everything up for us to come and shoot while showing us the country he works in often.

This little Iceland expedition helped me get my creativity off the back burner for a few days and it was so nice to connect with a few new people in the industry. 10/10 experience, I would definitely go back again.

Iceland was beautiful, the food was great, and the people so kind. Driving was much easier than I thought and I feel much more prepared for my next visit to the country. Maybe next time the Northern Lights will actually come back out to play!
