Last year, I was approached by a couple that wanted me to take their engagement photos as they wanted to have something tangible from their engagement (they told me they would not be booking a wedding photographer as they planned to get married in Vegas this year) so of course, I said yes! Now back it up a bit, when I moved to Weatherford, my first job was at the local pizza joint, Mazzio’s. Shortly before I left that job, I trained one other girl who came into the Mazz. Guess who that girl was? Dana! Fast forward 6 years, and I was taking her engagement photos! Small world, right?
As I was creeping through Facebook one day (because that’s what you do on Facebook), I saw Dana and Roy had tied the knot in Vegas and I was so pumped up for them! Marriage is seriously the best. Shortly after, I got a message from them asking if I would take their photos when they got back. Well, duh! Talk about all the excitement. So off to OKC I went, to catch their “wedding” photos during a dreamy sunset on Lake Hefner.
Everything about their session was perfect. The weather, the light, even the wind cooperated. I mean, I’ll just let their session speak for itself. Seriously. The whole thing was so beautiful and romantic. Oklahoma really outdid itself that night.
I loved catching up with both Roy and Dana, hearing about their Vegas trip and what they were both up to in the real world. And let’s be honest, who doesn’t love watching a perfect golden sunset in spring?
