Let’s talk VENDORS today! There are so many to choose from and I get asked frequently who I would hire. I’m going to simplify it for you and get some of my favorites all in one place! Ready? Here we go!
Venues
This is a pretty big part of your wedding day and let me tell you, you do not want to pick a venue that doesn’t work for you. Some are the literal best and others are less than. I’ll give you a few of my favorite venues to work with!
Barn at the Woods
This venue is the perfect mix of rustic and classic. On a picturesque property, tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the city, The Barn at the Woods is a perfect venue for any couple. The staff is friendly and helpful, there are lots of rentals to choose from, and there are several areas you can hold your ceremony.
Cole’s Garden
Cole’s Garden is a great choice for a traditional couple that wants that elegant touch. With indoor and outdoor ceremony options, you can have the wedding of your dreams without worrying about the weather. Home of C2 Catering, you can also worry less about what your guests will be eating or when the caterer will show up. Check them out for all the amenities they offer and hopefully you can snatch one of their available dates!
The Baumberhof
A concrete barn styled after classic German stone barns, the Baumberhof is a great option for a more modern bride. There are several areas around the venue to hold your ceremony and get those perfect portraits you’ve been dreaming about. No matter whether you love modern lines or rustic twists, the Baumberhof has something for you.
Cakes
Beautiful and tasty, let’s make sure you get an amazing cake for you and your guests!
Amy Cakes
Amy Cakes is THE best cake maker in the state, I swear! Her cakes are beautiful and so delicious. She makes so many different styles, sizes, and even cupcakes. Give her a call and I promise you won’t be disappointed.
The Round House Bakery
Kayla is AMAZING! All the cakes from Round House are made from scratch and she uses natural options for coloring. No artificial dyes or yucky stuff in your cakes so you can rest assured she’s giving you the best ingredients out there. I especially love her watercolor cakes so give those a peek.
You Need a Cake
Local to Edmond, You Need a Cake is as tasty as they are pretty. The sweetest ladies ever and they’re here to serve any cake needs you may have. They do amazing fondant work and I’m sure would love to here any ideas you have for your day!
Dresses
There are a ton of dress shops around the metro, so which one are you supposed to pick? I’ll give you some of my favorites!
Prescott Bridal
Prescott is #1 in my book! They are so kind, they know their gowns inside and out, and are great making sure things are done on time. They have sizes from 0-34, serving every bride of every size. Like they say on their website, you’ll “receive the honesty of a sister, the kindness of a mother, and the awesomeness of a friend” when you go into their shop.
Chantilly Couture Bridal
Chantilly has wonderful options for the modern and bohemian bride. They carry everything from sleek gowns to hand dyed skirts, and even have a selection of shoes. Your one stop shop for everything bridal, located in central OKC, it’s definitely worth checking out!
Florals
Florals are such a big part of your day, they can make or break what you’ve dreamed up. If you plan to hire someone for your vision, let me help you find someone with a creative eye that can give you exactly what you want!
Forever Cole Events
Heather with Forever Cole is a floral wizard. She is amazing at what she does and has such a wonderful way of planning every aspect of your wedding florals. She will help you design and coordinate your entire day. Each bouquet and arrangement is tailored to each individual bride, the wants of the couple, and the feel of the wedding. She’s been in the business for 8 years and can tackle just about anything
Uptown Grocery
Hear me out…they may be a grocery store, but Uptown Grocery makes a mean bouquet. Tell them what you want, and they’ll make it happen. They’ve made some of the best florals I’ve ever seen!
DJs
You don’t want your reception to be blah, so be sure to hire a DJ that knows exactly what they’re doing. Among the best (according to me) are:
Full Circle Melody
Full Circle Melody is a team of musicians, led by Travis Wackerly, that use what they call “fusion”. They switch between live music and a DJ booth and are incredibly talented! On top of the music, they play games with the guests to make sure everyone is enjoying your big day. Every wedding I see them at, I get so excited! They keep up a lively party and your guests are sure to have a great time.
DJ Lite Brite
Jalen is a pretty great DJ that will flow with the mood of your crowd. He has been the DJ for celebrities such as Paul George, the OKC Thunder, and even Snoop Dogg. If you want to drop it like it’s hot, DJ Lite Brite is your man. Want to try before you buy? You can catch Jalen at Fassler Hall in OKC as well as the Pretty Please Social Room several times throughout the year.
There are SO many wonderful vendors in Oklahoma, and these are just a few that I love. There are many more out there that will help make your wedding day extra special.
Any questions? Drop them below and I’d love to help you out!
Until next time!
