Bound To Be Brooks – June 3, 2017

I’ve known the Brooks family for a few years (Jill and I actually became friends after she gave me a lecture on what makes a good pen “good” during our SWOSU History Dept. days. What a weirdo.), and I was absolutely delighted when Clay came to me for his wedding! One of the first things he asked me at our pre-wedding meeting was, “Will we be ‘Instagram famous’?” Well, I can do one better. They can be blog famous. Ha!

On the blog today are Clay and Matalyn, two people who are so visibly in love, you’d have to be blind to miss it. Their relationship is one of devotion not only to one another, but also to serving God as best they can, supporting each other in the process. I’ve never seen a couple so sweet with each other, so fun-loving, or so ready to be married and start their life together as one. As you’ll see when you scroll down a little further, it was a beautiful day full of emotion. Matalyn was the picture of perfection as a timeless, classy bride. Clay, as dapper as they come. I’ve been a part of quite a few “first look” moments, but I’ve never witnessed such a sweet reaction from a groom before as he saw his bride for the first time. I’ll never forget the way Clay instantly teared up, telling Matalyn she was the most beautiful thing he’d ever seen. It may have been a little rainy on the SWOSU campus, but that didn’t stop anyone from coming to celebrate these two on their special day here in Weatherford, OK. Clay and Matalyn are absolutely perfect for each other, and I wish them all the best as they start this new journey as the newest Mr. & Mrs. Brooks!
